When archiving WhatsApp group messages, we recommend disabling the advanced chat privacy option to allow archiving of all participants and content that is sent in the group chat.

Note – If you enable advanced chat privacy the messages being archived for the group will not show all participants since the names and phone numbers will be hidden. This will make eDiscovery more difficult since you won’t know the name or phone number of the individuals in the group chat. If advanced chat privacy is enabled we will duplicate the messages being archived for that group since the names/phone numbers can’t be seen for all participants so we recommend turning this feature off for all group chats being archived.
How to disable the advanced chat privacy setting to prevent others in the group from turning it on:
When creating a new chat group the admin should disable the ability for other group members to make changes to group settings. This can also be done on existing groups by editing the group to disallow group setting changes.
Uncheck the “Edit group settings” option within the group permissions settings (must be an admin of the group to do this). This will prevent others from enabling advanced chat privacy in your group.
