If you are using an encryption service, MessageWatcher can archive your encrypted emails. How you determine if an archived email was sent to someone in an encrypted format depends on how your Office 365 encryption rules are configured. For example, if your encryption is triggered by a subject keyword like “Encrypt” you would see that in the message subject in the archive. If you are using an encryption method that sends the customer a notice that they have an encrypted email to view, you would see this notice alongside the original email so you would know it was encrypted. Just FYI, the emails in our portal are always encrypted when you are viewing them and in our long-term archive.
If your Office 365 policy requires TLS for all sent emails, then everything is encrypted that is sent to the client and that is sent to us for archiving. If you are using this method, you can view the encryption status in the “Headers” of the archived email by looking at the “Received” header like shown below.
